CASL Board Meeeting
CASL Board Meeting at Woodland, California

The CASL State Board, led by President Jenna McDermit, had their first school-year meeting September 10 – 12 in Woodland. The area directors, freshmen representatives, media and communications directors, and adult steering committee members collaborated plans for CASL for the coming school year.
Plans were completed for delivering the CASL “Road Show” (you may request a CASL “Road Show” at your school by contacting Jack Ziegler at jziggie@aol.com) and much work was done for the CASL State Conference. The CASL State Conference (Follow The Leadership Road) will be held at the Coast Hotel in Anaheim from April 9 to April 11. Conference materials will be out in October.
Saturday morning the CASL Board worked on teamwork. CADA members and Ropes Course Trainers Ted Wimberg (Douglass Middle School) and Jerry Delsol (Woodland High School) put our 2004-2005 CASL Board members through a Low Elements Ropes Course Teamwork and Leadership session which will help them to function at a high level throughout the year.
Following the Ropes Course the board worked on conference schedules, planned new sessions, practiced workshops, designed graphics, and put in a great deal of time keeping CASL responsive to the needs of California’s student leaders. For more information please contact Jack Ziegler at 530/662-8533 or jziggie@aol.com.

CASL Board Interns at CADA Leadership Safari at Stanford

CASL board members interned at the two CADA Leadership Safari camps held at UC Santa Barbara and Stanford during the summer. While teaching middle school students the fundamentals of student leadership, the board members themselves refined their skills as they led councils along with their adult leaders.
